Call for Papers

The online abstract submission system is now closed. We would like to thank all the many authors who have submitted an abstract for estec2007.

Without exception it is not possible to submit any more abstracts now. The selected authors will either give an oral or a poster presentation at estec2007. Their papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

Presentations at estec2007 will address the following target groups: decision makers in the solar thermal sector - manufacturing, trade, consulting, financing, research, planners, architects, investors in the commercial use of solar thermal energy, energy agencies and public authorities, policy makers involved in solar thermal.

5. Financing

This topic covers two kinds of issues: first, financing the growth of companies in the context of a European solar thermal market that doubled its size within less than four years. What can do the solar thermal industry to increase the availability of capital to finance growth strategies? Second, the challenge of creating standard financing schemes for the end users of solar thermal. Many EU citizens find it normal to finance the purchase of a car or a TV with a mortgage, regardless of their “payback time”. Why is this not the case for solar thermal? What can be done to change this situation?
